Joe McGowan was an artist, athlete, skateboarder, mountain biker and outdoorsman who was known for his friendly demeanor, kind spirit, and zest for life.
Whether attending the University of Wyoming, riding skateboards and bikes with his friends, outfitting students at the National Outdoor Leadership School, helping at a kids camp, or playing hockey and golf—Joe embodied a love for life.
Joe was killed in a tragic act of violence in October 2014, in which Joe played no part. His family and friends are deeply saddened by his loss, and have chosen to start the Joe McGowan Fund. Please consider making a donation to support the fund.
